Happy April, everyone!
Well, March was a weird month, to say the least. I’ve been quarantining for almost the entire month to prevent my parents from getting sick, and I’ve only left the house a handful of times each week for running errands. I even drove all the way to Michigan to rescue my sister from college before she got trapped there in quarantine!
While I haven’t been going out much, I definitely have some concrete favorites this month in both the beauty and fashion categories.
1. Comfy graphic tees
I have been LIVING in comfy t-shirts lately, and graphic tees are my favorite to wear during the day. I love the look of an oversized tee, and I love that they can be dressed up to look more trendy with a pair of jeans or a skirt (when the time comes to go outside again). I love my leopard Rolling Stones tee, this Led Zeppelin tee, and my latest purchases, this funky purple sun tee and this acid-washed star top (so comfy!!). Here are some more of my favorites:
2. Lou & Grey Signaturesoft Wide Leg Pant
These wide-leg sweatpants are to die for. They are INSANELY soft both on the inside and outside. They are long but shrink up just enough after washing to fit my 5’5″ frame perfectly. I love that they have the slit up the calf, and they can be dressed up (slightly) with a sweater and trendy sneaks or just worn around the house. I’m dying to try more from their Signaturesoft range.
3. Leopard jeans
I’m obsessed with these leopard print jeans from Vestique, although I haven’t been able to wear them out of the house much yet. They fit amazingly well on me and are super comfortable, and add a ton of flair to a look! I was afraid they weren’t really my style, but they’re super easy to wear with any solid-colored top.
4. New Tatcha primer
I’ve been obsessed with the new Tatcha The Liquid Silk Canvas primer. I have a mini size of the original Silk Canvas primer, but I like this a lot more. One pump is the perfect amount to disperse evenly across your face, and it helps keep oil at bay while smoothing out lines and pores. I love that it doesn’t have a super silicone-y feel like so many smoothing primers have. It’s an expensive product, but a little goes a long way. I wear it with and without foundation!
5. Lip favorites
As usual, I have a few favorite lip products. First off is the brand new Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. As soon as I caught wind of this release I knew I had to have it. It comes in the signature metal tube that their face masks come in, but in the most adorable, lip-balm size. It smells like sweet vanilla and the texture is amazing – it’s pretty much the same as the vanilla Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (my nighttime go-to), but in a travel-friendly and more hygienic tube. Just be sure to squeeze very gently so as not to risk a long stream of product coming out.
I’ve really been loving the Makeup Forever Artist Color Pencil in the shade Wherever Walnut. I’d received a mini size some time ago, but misplaced it. This is the perfect color and texture for overlining your lips – it doesn’t have as much slip to it as the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats, for instance, so it stays put longer. It’s just deep enough to provide the perfect shade for overlining without looking too intense.
My newest lip gloss favorite is the Patrick Ta Major Glow Lip Shine in the shade She’s Expensive, a “crystal pearl” color. It smells amazing and has a beautiful shimmer to it without feeling at all gritty on the lips. Instead of feeling like a sticky gloss, it feels like a lip balm, while still providing a beautiful, glassy finish.
MAC’s lipsticks are some of the best, and I’ve been loving the shade Blankety lately. I have naturally rosy lips and it’s hard for me to find nudes that don’t wash me out. This shade is definitely a bit light for me, but it looks perfect applied with a lip liner (like the aforementioned MUFE or Charlotte Tilbury in Pillowtalk) and blended out with my fingers. It’s more of a neutral nude, but has just enough of a pink tone to it for it to be flattering on my complexion.
6. Sol de Janeiro SOL Cheirosa ’62 Eau de Parfum
If you know me, you know I LOVE my Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and have for years. Well, my prayers have finally been answered. This perfume has the exact same scent, only it lingers on the body much longer than the body mist and has a bit richer of a scent. While it’s not the most long lasting perfume I own, it never fails to make me happy after spritzing.
7. Masking
I’ve been loving having more time to mask lately, and there are two I’ve been especially loving. First is the Onekind Pore-fectionist Refining Facial. It’s an incredible pink clay mask with AHA/BHA that gently exfoliates skin and unclogs pores. I love that it’s thinner than other clay masks I’ve tried because it’s easier to apply and remove. I am now an affiliate of Onekind so you can shop through this link or use my coupon code OKAMB-MEGHANM for a discount!
I’ve also been using my Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask a lot more frequently. I love keeping it in my skincare fridge to keep it extra cold. It just feels so soothing on the face and I always wake up super glowy the next morning. It’s great for using after any kind of exfoliating mask or treatment.
8. Tik Tok
At last, it seems like the whole world has finally caught on to Tik Tok. Everyone is making them these days, especially since we’re all stuck at home due to the coronavirus. I spend so much time scrolling through videos and they always make me laugh out loud. My Tik Tok is @meghanmcsharry.

Meg
