SEPHORA SALE 2020: Makeup Recommendations

Woohoooo! It’s here again. The Sephora sale officially starts this Friday, October 30th.

I tried to write a post that was a bit more minimal this go round, but I just couldn’t do it. Instead, I will be publishing multiple blog posts – this one for makeup recommendations, one for skincare, and one for hair/body care, etc.

Beginning on October 30th, Rouge members will be able to get 20% off their purchase. On November 3rd, VIB members can get a 15% discount and Beauty Insiders can get a 10% discount starting on the 5th. A lot of brands at Sephora rarely have sales, so this is the perfect opportunity to stock up on your favorites or try something new that you haven’t pulled the trigger on yet. To save extra money, I highly recommend signing up for Rakuten. I honestly thought it was some kind of scam or gimmick when I first heard about it, but I earn so much cash back from online shopping (especially at Sephora). Not sponsored, just think it’s genius!

I’ll be mentioning specific products, but will also link other favorites in my collection. Be sure to scroll through the photos to make sure you catch everything I’m recommending!

Lips

Arguably my favorite category. I have my eye on the Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame Lipstick and Liner Set. This is a beautiful, slightly berry, red color that’s perfect for fall and for the holidays. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and lip liners are my favorite. Pillow Talk is one of my most used shades in both the lipstick and liner.

I’m loving the NARS Mini Afterglow Lip Balm Duo. It comes with a mini size of Orgasm and Dolce Vita, and the formula makes your lips look so juicy and healthy.

The Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse lip gloss set is amazing this year. The shades are so gorgeous (even more so in person!) and it’s a formula that everyone loves. I also love this Fenty Glow Trio set because it comes with a gloss, Cheeks Out cream blush (a fav!), and a highlighter.

My favorite lip liner, next to Charlotte Tilbury, is Make Up For Ever’s Artist Color Pencil. These can be used anywhere on the face, but I love the shade 606 Wherever Walnut for overlining my lips.

If you’re looking for a great gloss other than Fenty’s, I love Dior’s Lip Maximizer and Buxom glosses. There are also some great sets that include lip products – more on those here.

I’ll talk more about my favorite lip care and balms in my skincare post, but the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is definitely one of the best. Linked lots more below.

Eyes

Natasha Denona Glam Palette

Natasha Denona’s Glam Palette is by far my favorite eyeshadow palette of recent times. It has the best selection of NEUTRAL tones, so it’s not too warm or too cool toned. It’s so versatile and you can create an entire look with just this palette, including liner! I definitely have my eye on the new Pat McGrath products, too. The new Mega Mothership palette is surprisingly fairly-priced for her line, and I’m in awe of the beautiful new quads she released.

I recently tried out some new mascaras – read the reviews here. Other mascaras that I love are Benefit Roller Lash, It Cosmetics Lash Blowout, Tarte Gifted, and Pat McGrath FetishEyes mascara. To keep my lashes long and healthy, I like GrandeLash and Lashfood.

For liner, I think Fenty’s Flypencil is amazing. I have the black and Puppy Eyez, which is a gorgeous metallic bronze. These are amazing because they’re super long wearing but can also be smudged out for the perfect smoky cat eye look. I like KVD Vegan Beauty’s Tattoo Eyeliner for a liquid liner because it has a brush tip – however, I reach for my Physician’s Formula eyeliner and my brown Em Cosmetics one more often, just because that’s what I have on hand right now. So many people use felt tips and don’t realize how much easier and smoother brush tip eyeliners are! I also feel a lot better about supporting that brand now that they’ve severed from anti-vaxxer Kat Von D herself.

For brows, I love Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow Pencil and have been obsessed with the Patrick Ta Major Brow Shaping Wax in clear. It can be a pain to use (you have to add a few extra steps to your routine since it has to be sprayed with water or setting spray before use), but every time I use it I get compliments on my eyebrows. I want to try the tinted shade since my eyebrows are a medium brown color but not super thick.

Face

While I’ve been absolutely obsessed with my new Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick (shade II) for dewy skin and easy application, Gucci Westman’s brand is not yet sold at Sephora (maybe one day?!). Armani Luminous Silk is probably my favorite foundation that is at Sephora. It provides medium coverage and never looks cakey. It’s on the pricier side, so the sale is the perfect time to buy. I wear the shade 4. I also love Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer (Alabaster shade) and Dior BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation (shade 2 is my tanner shade but I often mix it with something else to lighten it up).

NARS concealers are by far my favorite at Sephora. I love both the Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Soft Matte Complete Concealer, it just depends on whether or not my skin is dry and what I am trying to cover up. I can use a variety of shades, but I typically use Vanilla for when I’m more pale and Creme Brûlée when I’m a bit more tan.

Filmstar Bronze and Glow has long been a favorite of mine for contouring and highlighting. It has the perfect neutral-toned bronzer for carving out the hollows of the cheeks, and the highlighter is gorgeous as well. For the first time, she’s released a mini version! She also has a set that includes a full-sized palette (in limited edition packaging) and brush.

For blush, I’m loving the Fenty Cheeks Out cream blush. I highly suggest buying the Fenty brush to go with it! It’s a match made in heaven. I also really like the new Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush – a little goes a long way, so it’ll last you forever.
