Must-have shoes for fall and winter

Hi all!

The weather is finally changing, and I’m so excited to be able to break out my sweaters and boots again. As I’ve been organizing my fall wardrobe, I thought I’d round up what I find to be the most essential shoes for the cooler months of the year.

1. Chelsea boots

Chelsea boots have long been a favorite of mine, but my newest pair have really sealed the deal as to why they’re my favorites. These ones are water resistant, and they go with absolutely everything from jeans and a sweater to a sweatshirt and leggings. They’re insanely comfortable, too. I’m wearing them in the photo below!

2. Combat boots

Combat boots are trending again this year, and I’m here for it. I like something that’s not too chunky, and I also like boots that have a bit of a hiking boot vibe, like these Marc Fisher boots. Sure, you wouldn’t actually wear them in combat, but the lug sole and laces give them the combat boot look.

3. Heeled booties

Heeled booties are an absolute must for fall. They’re perfect for everyday wear, but the heel adds a bit of polish to your look. I love my Marc Fisher booties that I picked up during the Nordstrom Sale, but a ton of brands make this type of shoe.

4. OTK Boots

Over the knee boots will forever be a closet staple for me. As someone who absolutely hates wearing tights, I love how OTK boots provide more coverage of the leg than other shoes. They look so cute with skirts, dresses, and even over pants. I always have a flat pair and a heeled pair on hand so that I’m ready for any occasion. My most recent favorite isĀ this pair from Marc Fisher.

5. Slippers

Last but certainly not least… slippers! I can’t live without slippers. My feet get so cold year round, and I love wearing them around the house or even to run errands. These fur slipper-sandals from KoolaburraĀ are great for transition months, but my tried and true (and less stylish) favorite are the L.L. Bean Wicked Good Moccasins. I’ve gone through pairs and pairs of these. They’re truly the warmest, coziest, and most fairly priced. I also love Ugg slippers, of course.
