Tower 28 was kind enough to send me their Bronzino cream bronzers before the launch and let me just say – if you’re a fan of dewy skin, you need these in your makeup collection.
I’ve been a fan of Tower 28 for almost a year now – I believe I first started using their ShineOn Jelly Lip Gloss last summer, and after falling in love with its balm-like, non-sticky formula, I fell in love with the brand as a whole. Their BeachPlease Tinted Lip + Cheek Balm and facial spray are favorites of mine as well.
Bronzino is an illuminating cream bronzer that comes in the same packaging as the cream blush, and it’s Tower 28’s first bronzer formula. The clear compact opens to reveal a large pan. The bronzer itself has a creamy, balm-like texture and appears quite dark and shimmery in the pan, which initially intimidated me. The first time I used it, I meant to use the lighter shade, West Coast, and accidentally went in with Best Coast, which I thought would be far too dark for my skin tone. In actuality, Best Coast gave me the prettiest, dewy bronze look I could have ever imagined. I dotted it along my cheekbones, forehead and nose before blending it out with a dense blush. It stays a bit tacky if you don’t set it, so I added the tiniest bit of powder and powder bronzer on top. I looked sun-kissed, ever so slightly sunburnt, and my skin was incredibly radiant.
This bronzer blends amazingly with fingers or a brush. I find it to be almost an exact dupe for the Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in the shade Golden Light. The Chanel stick retails for $45, while Bronzino costs $20. Chanel’s has .28 ounces of product, while Tower 28’s Bronzino has .16 ounces of product – slightly more than half of the amount of Chanel’s, while being less than half the price.
If you’re considering picking up Bronzino, I say go for it! Either shade will work on a variety of skin tones, and I can see it being an amazing, dewy highlight for dark skin, too.
